Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend, Justin Theroux, hit up an art auction at Christie’s on Thursday. Justin did the bidding on a painting on her behalf and won her a painting for $450,000.
Justin snagged Glenn Ligon’s “Stranger #44″, which is an abstract piece, made from oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas. The art piece was estimated to fetch $150,000 to $200,000, but the happy couple shattered the record for sales by bidding and winning the piece for $450,000.
Artinfo.com said, “Aniston, who was in the room, clapped enthusiastically after his winning bid.”
The auction was for Artists For Haiti and benefits health and education initiatives for Haiti. It was organized by Ben Stiller and has raised over $13,000,000 for the cause.
